PotatoStrike: a free browser FPS you can play right now
PotatoStrike is a fast multiplayer first-person shooter that runs entirely in your web browser. Click play, pick a mode and you are in a match in seconds: no download, no installer and no sign-up needed.
What is PotatoStrike?
PotatoStrike is a free online FPS built for the browser. It has the things people look for in a shooter: tight movement, a range of weapons with their own recoil and spread, grenades, a kill feed, a scoreboard and a ranked progression of levels and leaderboards. Everything is decided by a dedicated server, so matches stay fair even when players have different connections.
Why play it?
- Instant. It loads in your browser. Open the page, press Quick Play and start shooting.
- Three ways to play online. Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch and Standard, a round-based bomb mode with buy time and a money economy.
- Seven weapons. A rifle, an SMG, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a marksman rifle and two pistols, each with its own feel.
- Practise against bots. Learn the maps without pressure, or use the no-damage sandbox to test everything.
- Maps made by players. Build your own arena in the map editor, share it, and rate other people's maps.
- Play with friends. Private matches with an invite link, up to a full lobby.
- Free. No pay-to-win. Progress, cosmetics and leaderboards come from playing.

Frequently asked questions
Is PotatoStrike really free?
Yes. It is free to play, there is nothing to download or install, and you can start a match as a guest without making an account.
Do I need to download anything?
No. PotatoStrike runs in your web browser using WebGL. Any recent desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari works. A mouse and keyboard are needed to play.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create a private match, copy the invite link and send it to your friends. They join straight from the link. You pick the mode and the map, and everyone else is filled in with other players or left empty.
Can I practise on my own?
Yes. Practice mode puts you in a match against bots, and the Sandbox option gives you bots that cannot hurt you, no damage taken and unlimited money, which is handy for learning a map or testing weapons.
Can I make my own maps?
Yes. The built-in map editor lets you drag and drop blocks, ramps, cylinders and pyramids, paint them, place spawn points and bomb sites, test the map against bots and publish it. Other players rate community maps with one to five stars.
Is the game fair?
The server is authoritative: your browser only sends what you are trying to do, and the server decides what happens. That makes the usual client-side cheats a lot harder.
