PotatoStrike game modes
Pick a mode on the front page and press Quick Play, or create a private match and choose the mode and map yourself.
Free-for-All
Up to 8 players, everyone against everyone. The first player to the kill limit wins, or whoever leads when the timer runs out. You respawn right away, so it is the fastest way to practise aim and learn a map.
Team Deathmatch
Up to ten players, five against five: two teams race to the kill limit together. Each team spawns together on its own side of the map. The scoreboard shows your team on top and the enemy team below, each ranked by the best performers. Team colours can be switched to a colour-blind friendly palette in Settings.
Duel (private 1v1)
A private head-to-head. Create a private match, invite a friend with the link and play a first-to-N duel.
Standard (rounds, economy and the bomb)
A tactical round-based mode with one life per round.
- Buy time: every round starts with 20 seconds where everyone is frozen on their spawn side and can open the shop, and drop or pick up weapons within reach.
- Economy: you start with $800. Winning a round pays $3,250, losing pays a bonus that grows with your loss streak, kills pay by weapon, and planting or defusing the bomb pays extra. Money is capped at $16,000.
- Shop: pistols, an SMG, a shotgun, a marksman rifle, a rifle and a sniper rifle, plus frag, flash and smoke grenades.
- The bomb: on maps with bomb sites, the attackers carry the bomb to a site and plant it (3 seconds). The defenders have to defuse it before it explodes. The bomb is only ever given to real players, never to bots.
- Halftime: sides swap after half of the rounds, and the first team to win the round limit takes the match.
Practice and sandbox
Practice puts you in a match against bots with any of the modes above. Sandbox turns the bots into harmless targets, removes damage and gives you unlimited money and grenades so you can test anything.
